Rapid detox at Opiate Detox Institute is a medically supervised, confidential 5-day program. You will spend Days 1-2 in an accredited hospital, where the detoxification procedure takes about 6-8 hours under sedation, with continuous monitoring by medical personnel. Days 3-5 take place at a licensed recovery residence.

The 5-Day Treatment Schedule

Here is what happens before admission and on each day of the program:

Before Admission

After you contact our office, you will have a phone interview and screening and complete an email questionnaire. Initial tests follow, including blood work, EKG, chest x-ray, toxicology screening, and checks such as pregnancy and anemia. These tests help determine whether the program is right for you and rule out health concerns.

Day 1

Hospital Admission & Medical Evaluation

Admission to the accredited hospital. A comprehensive medical evaluation includes a review of opioid use and medical history, and pre-procedure protocols take place in a private hospital room. The treatment plan is individualized to the patient's clinical needs after a review of labs, imaging, EKG, and cardiac studies such as an echocardiogram.

Day 2

Medically Supervised Detoxification & Stabilization

Detoxification is performed under sedation with continuous medical monitoring, directed by the physician in the hospital's ICU. The procedure lasts about 6-8 hours. Withdrawal is medically managed while the patient is sedated under the care of a board-certified anesthesiologist. Treatment includes an infusion of anti-narcotic medications, opioid receptor stabilization, and neuroregulation. Stabilization and close observation follow the procedure.

Day 3

Transition to the Licensed Recovery Residence

Upon meeting discharge criteria, the patient transitions from the hospital to the licensed recovery residence, with transportation coordinated. Rest, nourishment, and continued observation begin.

Day 4

Recovery, Observation & Support

Continued recovery at the residence: 24-hour observation, medication management as prescribed, meals, rest, and supportive care while the body adjusts. Therapy and counseling options are made available for interested patients.

Day 5

Final Stabilization & Discharge Planning

Final assessment, aftercare and follow-up planning, prescriptions and next-step referrals arranged, and discharge home with clear guidance for the days ahead.
